K9 TODDLERS
THINK like a dog.   BEHAVE like a Master!

Some of the behavior problems Teka has solved (references from pleased clients):

Teaching dogs to live together in peace:

JOINT STATEMENT: Yes, we look like little angels, don't we? Well, it wasn't always like this...Before our desperate parents called Teka to help them, we didn't get along! Each of us came from different Los Angeles Animal Shelters and had what Teka calls "issues." We weren't sure what that meant at the time, but with Teka's patient and gentle help, we are now getting along SO well! We have GREAT manners, play together in the yard, and line up in a row for our after-dinner treats!

Benny, Sadie and Nigel Nemeth

NIGEL NEMETH: I wasn't socialized, and didn't want any other dogs near me. I'm a Jindo, and people say Jindos are not very sociable to begin with; but Teka helped me realize that other dogs are FUN! =0)

SADIE NEMETH: I tend to be pretty bossy and like to be in charge. I want my own way. It's a little hard sometimes to be flexible about this - I'm a Border Collie/Akita Mix and herding is what I do best. But I'm working on it.

BENNY BEAR NEMETH: I didn't really need much training. I'm a big ol' lovable bear of a dog and didn't have any glaring issues. So - I watched while Teka trained my adopted brother and sister and had so much fun when she danced with me!

Teaching the dog owner how to command respect:

The first human I met (other than mama) after arriving from Australia was Teka. Because I'm smart and naturally gifted, Teka had to spend most of her time with mama during our first "session." She tried to teach mama how to communicate with me so I'd know when mama was just playing and when she wanted me to do something for real….I was such a fluffly adorable little thing, though, mama just couldn't get it right in the beginning - she would use that really annoying high-pitched "baby talk" voice that I didn't take seriously - so I just ignored her. But as mama saw how Teka worked with me and how I instintively followed Teka's commands, mama started to see what kind of voice and demeanor she should use with me - and after a while I realized mama wasn't going to let me get away with things just because I flash my forlorn puppy eyes…...shucks!

I highly recommend Teka to any other puppy whose mama needs help. Teka will shape 'em up in no time!

Teaching the dog not to pull on lead and knock people over:

When my dad called Teka I was already a big girl. I never knew I would grow up to be so big, in my mind I was still a little baby. I used to knock people over to give them kisses and they were afraid of me. I had no manners. But today I go jogging every morning with my dad without dragging him down the street like I used to. Teka taught me to be gentle and my dad learned to be more patient with me. We are best buddies now. What a difference! Thank you so much, Teka! -- Brownie Elkins

Teaching the dog not to fight with other dogs and to come when called:

Dealing with separation anxiety:

Growing up I was a crying baby and I didn’t like to be left alone. I was very naughty too. I chewed up everything. I knew I was in trouble when I destroyed my mom’s very expensive shoe and I peed on my dad’s side of the bed all in the same day. Not a good day. My parents never had a puppy before so they didn’t know how to raise me. And I didn’t know any better. That’s when we met Teka. I fell in love with her right away. She is funny and very friendly too. She taught us how to understand one another and we are a happy family thanks to her. My parents think the world of Teka! Me too! She’s the best!

Many woofs, Sasha Howell.

Teaching dogs to live together in peace:

Dear Teka,
Everyone tells me I looked like a teddy bear, and I love it when people pet me and tell me how cute I am. But I was acting out a lot and getting away with it because of my looks. I didn't really like fighting with my sister all the time, and I sure didn't like having to go to the hospital for stitches so much. I got scared when I heard mom saying I might have to get a new home. But you showed mom how she could be tough with me but still love me. I'm so glad you were here to help us! Now we all get along and it's so nice to be part of a loving family.
Love, Willow

Training a deaf dog:

Dear Teka,
I'm just a little guy plus I'm deaf so it's hard to get noticed in this house with all the other dogs. I heard my mom call me "incorrigible." I don't know what that means but it didn't sound good. Mom said she couldn't handle me because she didn't know how to train a deaf dog. But remember how much fun we had in our training?! That was the best! You made me feel smart and special and now I know my family thinks I'm a good boy.
Love, Walter

Teaching dogs to co-exist with cats:

Hi Teka,

Just the other day we heard one of our daddies say to the other one, "If it weren't for Teka, these dogs might be back at the pound by now!" Thanks for training them to be such great parents and for assuring our safe place here in their home. And thanks for helping us to realize that the kitties can be our friends. We're enjoying many lazy afternoons hanging out with those little furballs.

Love,
Kasley and Kika Wagner

Teaching dogs to have more self-confidence:

Dear Teka,
When I first met you my nickname was "Velcro" because I was always stuck to someone's leg. I was so insecure, after all I'd been through. My mom felt sorry for me but you showed her that what I really needed was confidence so I could be more independent. I'm much happier now thanks to you.
Love, Cole
