K9 TODDLERS
THINK like a dog.   BEHAVE like a Master!

Teka's Own Pets

Sky, the formerly dog and food-aggressive Dogo:

This is my baby girl, Sky. I rescued her from the West LA Shelter in 2002. When I saw her face I just couldn't believe my eyes! All I could say was "She's a Dogo! She's a Dogo!". The officer at the shelter thought I was a crazy foreign ... "Dogo? What's a Dogo?". I explained to her she was an Argentine Mastiff breed called Dogo. I always loved this breed because they are misunderstood just like pit bulls are. I knew if I didn't rescue her she would be put down since everyone there thought she was a pit bull/dalmation mix. She had food and dog aggression issues however today she's my angel and my assistant. I named her Sky because I believe my angels sent her to me. :0)

Ka Nui, my deaf Pitbull, my mini-Sky:

This is my new addition to the family: Ka Nui (which it means "the greatest" in Hawaiian) ... my sweet Mini-Sky. She came into my life as a foster/training since she's deaf and a Pitbull ... (rescued by Karma Rescue) ... we wanted to make sure she had proper socialization and basic training before putting her for adoption. Well ... it didn't take long for all of us to fall absolutely in love with her. She's not only very bright but she can certainly hear us with her heart. =). The picture on the right shows Ka Nui as she looked when I first got her. The picture on the left shows her as she looks in early 2007.

Daisy, the acrobat cat:

This is my princess girl, Daisy. She was rescued in 1996 from a shelter. She always sits like a royal princess! She's the clown in my house, she makes every one laugh. She thinks she's a bird, she likes to sleep on your shoulders, on the seat of my road bike or anywhere she NEEDS to balance herself. Uncomfortable for most cats, heaven for her.

Mitch, no ordinary cat:

Mitch, my loving boy. I rescued him in 1995 when I heard a woman saying "he's just an ordinary cat, I don't want him". That was MY lucky day! He's my bed warmer, my cuddler, and my purring machine every night I go to sleep.

Maya, the shy cat with built-in alarm clock:

This is my sweet and shy girl Maya. Rescued from the streets in 1998, abandoned when she was only 6 weeks old. She loves to sleep under the covers, summer or winter! She's the alarm clock in my house ... first one in the kitchen waiting for breakfast. She is my cuddler number two, when Mitch has his day off, sleeping on the couch!
